The Impact you will have in this role: Being a member of the Enterprise Services Group, the Executive Director, Data Governance Lead will be responsible for developing and leading DTCC's data governance program, ensuring that DTCC data assets are efficiently led, protected, and applied to improve business value, while meeting Risk and Compliance requirements. This role will set the strategic vision for data governance across the organization, establish policies, standards, frameworks, and practices to drive consistency, compliance, and best practices in data management, and promote a culture of data stewardship across a broad set of data. The Governance Lead will work with the Head of Enterprise Data Solutions. Your Primary Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop DTCC’s data governance framework, ensuring alignment with DTCC’s Enterprise Data Strategy and in support of business, risk and regulatory compliance objectives and priorities. Formalize and communicate DTCC data management operating model, including roles & responsibilities across Business and Functions. Establish data governance framework, policies, and standards across the data management lifecycle (e.g., data acquisition, metadata management, data quality, lineage, access, usage, retention, documentation, incident management). Stay abreast of industry trends, standard methodologies, and emerging technologies to continuously improve data governance practices. Program Management & Execution: Lead the execution of the data governance program (including definition of data management goals, metrics) in alignment with key areas involved in the data management lifecycle. Identify and define key data assets, data domains, authoritative sources of data, data quality standards, integrity and compliance etc. in collaboration with key collaborators. Assess data governance maturity and identify and prioritize areas of improvement. Develop and oversee the data governance roadmap, ensuring delivery of measurable results and continuous improvement across the data management lifecycle. Carry out and supervise execution of policies and standards by key partners and call out issues and exceptions as needed. Supervise and report on the effectiveness of data governance practices, using KPIs and metrics to assess progress and identify areas for improvement. Lead multi-functional enterprise-wide initiatives. Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that empowers team members and promotes professional growth. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Business and Functional leaders, IT, data stewards, and regulatory partners to ensure consistent implementation of data governance policies and practices. Lead governance-related working groups and collaborate closely with collaborators, including Businesses, Functions, Enterprise Data Tribe, IT, Data Stewards, Data Risk Management and Compliance to align data governance efforts. Promote a culture of data stewardship across the organization, ensuring all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in leading and protecting data assets. Lead key data governance training and communication programs, supporting data literacy and a data-first culture across the organization. Serve as a key advisor and partner to senior management, providing guidance and insights on data governance matters and influencing decision-making. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance: In partnership with Data Risk Management, ensure compliance with data risk policies and standards, as well as relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data governance and management. Support Data Risk Management in identification and management of data-related risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies as vital. Act as the main point of contact for data governance-related audits, assessments, and regulatory inquiries. Qualifications: Minimum of 15 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. Talents Needed for Success: Bachelor’s degree in data management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; master’s degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management position. Solid understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements. Experience working with data management tools such as Collibra (preferably), Informatica, Alation, or similar platforms. Demonstrable ability to lead and influence multi-functional teams and maintain relationships with collaborators at all levels. The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
