Job DescriptionPurpose & Scope:Reporting to the System Associate Vice President for Managed Care & Strategic Contracting, The Director of Supply Chain Operations for VHC Health provides leadership to the Supply Chain Operations Department through the overall planning, direction, and management of the department, its policies and procedures, and its staff. The Director is responsible for the receiving and distribution of materials, both clinical and non-clinical, including, but not limited to, management of central and other storerooms that must provide prompt access to clinical supplies, par replenishment operations for all nursing and clinical areas, maintenance of equipment inventory, and the provision of delivery services to units for patient care.The Director makes significant contributions to supporting cost containment, orchestrating supply management initiatives, and bringing innovation to VHC Health. This includes developing and participating in short and long-range strategic plans that result in optimal use of supplies, services, inventory, and performance at VHC and supply chain management operations. Develops supply chain management strategies and addresses daily supply chain operations, including process reengineering, utilization management, supply chain systems coordination, customer service, receiving, inventory management, asset management, and distribution.The process of directing supply chain operations should always be aligned with the vision and mission of VHC Health and the department.Education:Bachelor's degree in business, process engineering, or in a related field is required. Master's degree in a related field is preferred.Experience:Ten years of experience in supply chain management is preferred.Five years of progressive leadership experience is required.Five years of experience in industrial purchasing/materials management or healthcare purchasing/materials management is preferred. Hospital experience is required.Certification/Licensure:None.Other Qualifications:Must have broad supply chain management experience, experience with logistics and distribution, and experience with business process standardization, business process engineering and performance improvement strategies.Must have extensive product, medical equipment, and medical services knowledge.
