Equipment Labor Operator
Location: SB Cox Yorktown Facility
Reports To: Operations Supervisor/Manager
Job Summary:
SB Cox Yorktown Recycling Facility is seeking a skilled and dedicated Loader Operator to join our dynamic team. The Loader Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining loaders and other heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient handling and processing of recyclable materials. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our recycling processes and the achievement of our environmental sustainability goals.
Job Requirements:
- Judgment and Decision-Making: Ability to make informed decisions regarding equipment operation and material handling.
- Coordination and Monitoring: Efficiently coordinate with team members and monitor material movement.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
- Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail in all tasks.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of loader operation and capabilities.
- Mechanical Skills: Excellent mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
- Instruction Compliance: Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate loaders and other heavy equipment to move, load, and sort recyclable materials.
- Prepare sites for material processing, ensuring proper placement and storage.
- Use equipment to handle and sort various types of recyclable materials.
- Inspect and fuel vehicles before each shift.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of loaders and other equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of materials handled and equipment usage.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and identifying recyclable materials.
- Remove debris and clean work areas as needed.
- Work with team members to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Operate hand and power tools as required.

Position Type and Hours of Work:
- Full Time
- 50 + hours
- Overtime Available
- Monday-Friday and ½ day on Saturday
Physical Demands:
- Physical labor involving the handling of recyclable materials.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Good physical stamina.
- Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
- Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Capability to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
