We are now accepting resume/applications for EXPERIENCED Asphalt Equipment Operators for the Houma, LA & surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:
- Job Scope:
- Responsible for operating a variety of equipment for groundwork and construction purposes
- Duration of Job: Temp to Hire
- Based on Job Performance
- Requirements for Position:
- Experience with operating asphalt equipment (asphalt paver, screed, rollers, broom skid steer, backhoe, etc...)
- Must be able to pass drug screen
- Required Skills:
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Great written & verbal communication
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with others
- Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
- Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
- Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow, and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
- Assist in placement, displacement, and moving various traffic control devices.
- Set up and tear down equipment.
- Shovel, rake and spread asphalt.
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
- Transport raw materials to production workstations
- Lift and carry merchandises/material as needed..
- Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages.
- Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
- Maintain equipment in safe and good working condition.
- Mange house keeping activities when requested.
- Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.
- Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities
- Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.
- Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
- Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks
- Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
- Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
- The employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
- Documents Required:
- Driver's License/Identification
- Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
- MUST be able to provide PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)
- MUST have reliable transportation.
- Pay:
- Starting Pay: $18.00 (DOE)
- Weekly Pay
- Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
- Schedule:
- Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)
- 8 - 12 Hour Days (With Weather Permitting)
- Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)
