(CPC) aims to promote the social and economic empowerment of Chinese American, immigrant, and low-income communities. Today, CPC is the nation's largest Asian American social services agency and offers more than 50 programs at over 35 sites throughout New York City, including early childhood education, school-age care, youth services, workforce development, community services, and senior services. CPC strives to be the premier social service and leadership development organization. In 2017, CPC launched Advancing Our CommUNITY, its organization-wide strategy to expand services to address persistent needs and emerging trends and to improve leadership skills among staff and community members. In 2022, our core programs and emergency services reached 200,000 people living in all five boroughs and all 51 city council districts. In the summer of 2022, CPC was recognized as the number one Chinese American organization in New York City to recommend to a Chinese immigrant looking for in-language and culturally competent resources according to a recent survey.PROGRAM SUMMARYThe Learn and Earn Program provides work readiness skills training, college access support, leadership development and employment opportunities for youth and young adults. Youth are equipped with the experience and skills necessary to make a successful transition into adulthood and are empowered to become stronger advocates for themselves and their communities.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the day-to-day operations of the Learn and Earn programming at FDRHS.Administer program budgets and monitor expenditures.Design and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy/outreach plan; ensure that target enrollment numbers and program deliverables/outcomes are met.Serve as the primary liaison for the contract manager.Collaborate with other CPC programs and partner organizations to provide holistic services for youth.Build a network of worksites for summer internship opportunities; manage internship placement and retention efforts.Attend meetings and trainings as required by CPC and funders.Provide support for all direct service activities as needed.Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Director of ECS.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology or related field.Master’s degree preferred.Experience managing programs and initiatives for youth and young adults, including at least 2 years of direct service experience within a center-based/afterschool setting.Skills and Competencies:Strong work ethic and demonstrated passion for working with immigrant and low-income communities, and youth development.Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.Prior knowledge of NYC DYCD operations and regulations helpful.Bilingual in Spanish, Chinese and/or another language a plus.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS OVERVIEW$32.98 - $35.57 per hour; 35 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.CPC offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to generous paid time off (holiday, sick and vacation time), Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance Coverage, Commuter Benefits, and a 403(b) Retirement Plan.COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLSCPC has been committed to two goals: 1) keeping staff and community members healthy and safe and 2) continuing to safely provide services to community members.
