We currently have an immediate opening for an experienced mechanic for fleet maintenance. The work will include, but is not limited to, routine maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel fleet vehicles, such as pick-up trucks, box trucks, Class A & D dump trucks, and trailers with and without airbrakes. Additionally, there will be maintenance and repairs on construction equipment, including small and large excavators, bobcats, full-size loaders, compressors, and small gas or electric-powered equipment. The ideal candidate should have their own tools and will have access to various shop-owned tools. Work hours will range from 8-10 hours per day, from 6 am until 3-4 pm, with overtime available. Pay will be based on experience, starting at $22 per hour for entry-level and experienced mechanics starting pay is negotiable. Benefits will be available after a 90-day probationary period.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Repair and replace faulty components, such as brakes, transmissions, and engines.
  • Weld and fabricate metal parts as needed.
  • Assemble and disassemble machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with a variety of vehicles and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and automotive diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Experience with electrical systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction/diesel equipment is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • OSHA 10 required before starting employment. If candidate does not have it employer will pay for on-line class to be done in the office on candidate's own time or the candidate can obtain it on their own.
  • DOT physical will be required and paid for by employer.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $54,000 - $74,000 per year depending on experience. Pay is hourly with approx 5 hours of OT per week. Pay cycle is weekly.

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week.
