Heavy Equipment Rental Project Manager - For Large Commercial Projects

Company: A thirty-year-old privately owned commercial construction firm that specializes in property maintenance, restoration, repairs, remodeling, and roofing. The Company is seeking to expand its client base.

Corporate Office Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Project Locations: Miami, FL & Fort Lauderdale, FL

Status: Full-time employee

Relevant Work Experience: Equipment Rental management as a separate P&L center acting as liaison to Project Managers and company operations.
Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with knowledge, experience, and job duties (Range: $40-$45/hour)

Responsibilities

· Develop and manage heavy equipment rentals including scheduling and organizing equipment for emergency remodel and rebuild restoration projects.

· Manage the rental process and organize inventory for heavy equipment such as Air compressors, Skid steers and compact track loaders, Towable light towers, Telehandlers, Warehouse forklifts, Scissor lifts, Boom lifts, Portable generators and Chillers, Vertical lifts, Mini excavators, Heaters, and Backhoe Loaders

· Manage all costs as they relate to equipment repairs and maintenance.

· Manage areas as a profitable entity.

· Perform weekly and monthly equipment rental inventories to ensure appropriate equipment inventories.

· Monitors equipment rental transactions to track lost or stolen equipment, including filing police and insurance reports as needed.

· Opens and closes, authorizes refunds, and handles customer problems in addition to other duties as assigned.

· Oversees forklift maintenance and daily completion of pre-operation checklist.

· Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:

· Scheduling transportation of heavy machinery and equipment including generators and chillers, requiring attention to detail.

· Ensure a full site assessment and risk-assessed plan prior to commencing work.

  • Retail, sales, or customer service experience.
  • Collections experience helpful.
  • Fair Housing and legal knowledge.
  • Interpersonal and appropriate telephone skills.
  • Computer and typing and skills.
  • Must have a valid in-state Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
