Associate Scrum Master

Philadelphia, PA (4 days on-site)

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Scrum Master to join our growing team. If you are passionate about Agile methodologies, teamwork, and coaching teams, we want to hear from you.


Responsibilities:

Supporting Scrum Teams:

  • Facilitation of Scrum ceremonies (Sprint planning, Daily stand-ups, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective)
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and development team to ensure a clear understanding of product backlog items.
  • Help maintain and update team boards, burndown charts and other Scrum artifacts.

Team Collaboration:

  • Foster a collaborative and self-organizing team culture.
  • Demonstrate, encourage and facilitate open communication among team members.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving conflicts/impediments that hinder team’s progress.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Facilitate engaging retrospective meetings to identify areas of improvements.
  • Contribute to the implementation of process improvements based o by acting as a team coach.

Metrics and Reporting:

  • Assist in tracking and reporting key performance and flow metrics, such as velocity, throughput, cycle time and release burn-up.
  • Generate and maintain project progress reports for stakeholders.

Training and Onboarding:

  • Help onboard new team members to Agile principles and practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members as they adapt to Agile methodologies.

Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their expectations and to help coach the product owner and scrum team on the optimal ways of working.
  • Work with project managers and product owners to deliver meaningful information/reports to stakeholders.
  • Communicate team health updates, challenges, and wins to leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software. Jira experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge of other Agile frameworks (Kanban, XP, etc.).
  • Previous experience in a software development or IT environment.
