About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Greenhouse Tomato Grower to join our team in San Juan, Dominican Republic. As a Greenhouse Tomato Grower, you will be responsible for overseeing the growth and development of our tomato crops, ensuring that they are healthy and productive. You will work closely with our team of agricultural experts to develop and implement strategies for maximizing crop yields and minimizing waste. Your ultimate goal will be to produce high-quality tomatoes that meet the needs of our customers and contribute to the success of our business. We are looking for a candidate with knowledge of growing tomatoes (specifically grape tomatoes) in plastic greenhouses.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in greenhouse tomato growing
  • Strong understanding of plant & plastic greenhouse
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in Spanish (Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not a must)
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hydroponic growing systems
  • Experience with pest and disease management
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain the health and growth of tomato crops in a greenhouse environment
  • Develop and implement strategies for maximizing crop yields and minimizing waste
  • Manage 40+ acres of greenhouses with daily walkthroughs
  • Supervise & collaborate with agronomists to identify and address issues related to plant health and growth
  • Maintain accurate records of crop growth and development
  • Ensure that all crops meet quality standards and customer requirements

Skills:

As a Greenhouse Tomato Grower, you will use your knowledge of plant biology to monitor and maintain the health and growth of tomato crops. You will also use your problem-solving skills to identify and address issues related to plant health and growth. In addition, you will use your communication skills to collaborate with agricultural experts and other team members. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential to your success in this role. Finally, your attention to detail and record-keeping skills will ensure that all crops meet quality standards and customer requirements.


Job Type: Full-Time
