Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSWC) to join our organization. In this role, you will provide comprehensive social work services to individuals, families, and communities, helping them overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being. Your expertise in clinical assessment, counseling, case management, and advocacy will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, client-centered care.
This is a fee-for-service position
Responsibilities:
- Clinical assessment and diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals, families, or groups to evaluate their psychosocial needs, mental health status, and support systems. Formulate accurate diagnoses based on the assessment findings.
- Counseling and therapy: Provide evidence-based counseling and therapy to clients, utilizing various modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or other appropriate approaches. Foster a therapeutic alliance and create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their concerns and develop coping strategies.
- Case management and coordination: Develop and implement comprehensive case management plans to address clients' social, emotional, and practical needs. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, community agencies, and organizations to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Crisis intervention: Offer immediate crisis intervention services to individuals and families experiencing acute mental health or social emergencies. Provide emotional support, conduct risk assessments, and connect clients to appropriate resources for stabilization and ongoing care.
- Advocacy and resource linkage: Advocate for clients' rights, social justice, and access to necessary services. Assist clients in navigating complex systems and connect them to community resources, benefits, entitlements, and support networks.
- Documentation and record-keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Education and prevention: Develop and deliver educational programs, workshops, and preventive interventions to individuals and communities, focusing on mental health promotion, risk reduction, and healthy coping strategies.
- Stay updated on best practices: Continuously engage in professional development activities to remain informed about the latest research, evidence-based practices, and ethical guidelines in the field of social work.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work from an accredited program.
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSWC).
- Experience in a clinical setting providing direct services to individuals with diverse populations and varying mental health conditions.
- Solid understanding of clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing social work practice.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with other professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload efficiently.
- Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Must be licensed in the state of Maryland
