Join our team! We have an exciting opening for a full-time Associate Business Analyst to join our innovative Service Delivery team in Madison, Wisconsin!
Summary:
The BioHealth practice at Yahara provides IT consulting to companies ranging from small start ups to large corporates and the Government sector. Examples areas of Yahara’s BioHealth practice IT consulting are Laboratory Process Automation and Analytics, Medical and Pharmaceutical Instrumentation Product Development, Electronic Records, Quality Management System, Security Compliance, Medical Device Integration with Health Care Electronic Records, Clinical Trial Management and Biotech Manufacturing.
The BioHealth Associate Business Analyst is focused on providing level one business analysis services for a max of 2-3 small projects and with support from higher level Business Analysts. Projects will Providing project support to internal teams, this role will collaborate closely with the project technical teams, project sponsors, and project managers. The Associate Business Analyst will work directly with clients to identify technical needs and work to manage communication around future state and progress, servicing as the voice of Yahara. The Associate Business Analyst will report directly to the Business Analysis Practice Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct sessions with stakeholders to discuss current-state scientific and business processes and gather future-state needs.
- Understand and analyze parts of client’s larger scientific workflow such as chromatography, stem cell manufacturing, genome sequencing, radiation therapy etc. and participate in the assessment of how automated systems can be leveraged for implementation.
- Connect scientific requirements with overall business needs.
- Utilize requirements analysis tools such as flow charts, sequence diagrams, entity relationship diagrams etc to depict current-state and suture-state scientific and business processes.
- Serve as a liaison between the development team and client to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with scientific and business needs.
- Accurate note taking in communicating decisions, action items, and next steps for requirements gathering to team members post meetings.
- Organize requirements into feature-sets and prioritize them into ‘mandatory’ versus ‘desired’ buckets.
- Convert requirements and solutions designed in collaboration with Tech lead into user/technical stories in support of software development activities such as estimating, development and testing.
- Track requirements as they progress through development activities.
- Utilize rapid prototyping tools such as JustinMind, Sketch, or Zephyr to facilitate development and maximize usability of application features.
- Serve as liaison between Yahara and its clients to gather testing feedback and prioritizing bug fixes.
- Follow Agile software development practices and lead scrum cadences for backlog grooming, estimation and sprint planning.
- Stay up to date and incorporating learnings from IIBA, scrum.org, scrum alliance, or other industry standard entities for software development best practices.
- Provide support to higher level Business Analysts.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, and related fields.
- Familiarity with analytical laboratory processes, experiment procedures and common terms in the LifeScience domain.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a scientific or technical environment.
- Interest in concepts related to user interface or user experience and the software development lifecycle.
- Interest in exploring how IT systems, processes or technology can improve user experience.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook and demonstrated ability to quickly learn a new software tool.
- Demonstrated ability to develop formal documentation such as standard operating procedures, reports, requirements, presentations to team members or higher authorities.
- Demonstrated high degree of initiative and ownership; proactively works to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and create lasting relationships. Must have experience working on a team.
- Demonstrated ability to escalate and work through roadblocks.
- Able to learn new technology well enough to communicate with technology experts.
Preferred Requirements:
- Prior experience in the LifeScience Domain.
