Position Overview:


Enlightened is seeking a Business Certification Analyst to certify eligible firms for participation in various Port Authority and federal business diversity programs. These programs include the Port Authority’s Minority-Owned Business (MBE), Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE), and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) programs, which encompass Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) firms, as well as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) federal programs.

The ideal candidate will analyze business documents, contact business owners for additional information and provide written determination on application status to applicants and update several databases.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the confidentiality of applicant information by maintaining a secure records management system that adheres to Port Authority procedures as well as applicable federal criteria.
  • Review applications and provide written determinations and recommendations to the Lead Business Certification Analyst in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular audits of certified firms to ensure ongoing compliance with Port Authority and federal business diversity program requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of audit processes, findings, and outcomes for future reference and analysis.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, IT, or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with small business certification processing and/or renewals.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand business and financial documents such as corporate by-laws, partnership agreements, tax returns, and bank statements.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to analyze business records and documents to validate eligibility of businesses for programs and services.
  • Legal knowledge in business and/or financial documents such as corporate by-laws, partnership agreements, tax returns, and bank statements are a plus.
  • Outstanding writing, presentation, and communications skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and comfortable learning new computer programs.

The expected salary range for this position is listed above. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
