A Brief Overview
The Business Diversity Specialist performs tasks related to and in support of the Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs as well as all diversity activities in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Airport Authority laws and regulations. The Specialist must maintain a working knowledge of mandatory Federal, State, and local laws and regulations in their area of expertise including but not limited to ACDBE, DBE, procurement processes and small business Administration policies and procedures.

A Brief Overview
The Business Diversity Specialist performs tasks related to and in support of the Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs as well as all diversity activities in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and Airport Authority laws and regulations. The Specialist must maintain a working knowledge of mandatory Federal, State, and local laws and regulations in their area of expertise including but not limited to ACDBE, DBE, procurement processes and small business Administration policies and procedures.
What you will do
- Prepares complex statistical reports and analyses of program activities that include research, document preparation and communication with internal and external customers and provide results for management use.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with stakeholders and participants regarding program expectations, procedures and importance of compliance. Provides presentations, training and active meeting participation.
- Conducts research on program and procurement related topics and reports findings.
- Performs on site compliance reviews as required of SBE, DBE and ACDBE participants and monitors related contract performance.
- Assists in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for program and department, as well as forms, reports and software tools.
- Monitors industry best practices for changes to enhance the programs, informs the management and recommends procedural or program modifications to appropriate respond to changes.
- Inputs appropriate data information into the appropriate systems including, but not limited to databases or other similar systems and the integrated financial system.
- Coordinates cross-functional responsibilities between BDU and Airport Authority staff.
- Researches and completes urgent and time sensitive projects, including trouble shooting and provide customer support.
- Reviews and updates information on the Airport Authority internet and intranet sites, ensuring accurate and current information is posted as assigned.
- Assistances with end of fiscal year related processes as assigned.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or a closely related field, And
- 4 or more years of experience in contract compliance or contract administration functions, working with SBE and/or other Business Diversity programs and procurement
- Proficient with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Excel, Presentation).
