We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager based in our Perth CBD Office on a Full-Time Permanent basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects ensuring that these are delivered to agreed criteria, with commercially competitive standards for safety, cost, timeliness, quality, and scope and customer satisfaction consistent with company strategy, commitments, and goals.
This role will provide Project Management on a range of Energy Transformation projects and initiatives, including the DER Roadmap and the DSO Strategy and Roadmap.
This position is critical in the delivery of Western Powers strategic objective of Distribution Transformation and our transition towards Distribution System Operator.
This position will manage and deliver large-scale complex/high value/high visibility and reputational impact/multi-stream projects with a project duration of one or more years that provide cost-effective solutions in line with customer and stakeholder requirements and expectations.
Your Role in Action
Delivering critical or high-risk projects to the agreed scope, time, and cost without compromising quality (including the management of contractors and other suppliers).
Successful transition of projects to business as usual with minimal business impact, ensuring change management is effective and increases the chances of success for benefits delivery.
Execute all projects according to Western Powers Project Methodology, Standards, Processes, and Compliance framework.
Ensure project financials are managed, maintained, forecasted, and can be reported upon in terms of Capex and Opex.
Report the status of the assigned projects proactively and on an ongoing basis to key stakeholders and Program Manager, and coordinate and manage the work of the project team through up-to-date resource plans and project schedules.
Identify and actively manage project assumptions, risks, issues, and dependencies associated with delivery ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are established and actively managed.
Conduct stakeholder analysis and establish effective stakeholder management plans.
Ensure that all project documentation is completed appropriately and satisfies NFIT requirements.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Experience in a Project Management role where managing teams has been required.
Relevant and current trade-based qualification in a discipline such as Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Certificate 3, Trade Certificate or Distribution/Transmission Overhead or Certificate 3 Distribution Cable Jointer or equivalent - desirable.
Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or similar – desirable.
Broad and extensive knowledge and experience as a Project Manager in IT and/or business change/transformation environments.
Working knowledge of contemporary, industry-standard project management methodology such as PMBoK or Prince2.
A successful record of delivering complex, large value, high-risk projects within a constrained timeframe.
Detailed working knowledge of Project Management methods, tools, and systems.
Sound understanding of resource planning across multiple projects and teams.
High level of business acumen including strategic planning, finance, and leadership skills.
Capable of interacting with resources and managers of all levels in a professional manner.
