Program Manager III
to work on our client's site in
Washington, DC. The Program Manager III is responsible for the overall planning, direction, and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that are critical to the agency’s needs. This role involves managing large, multi-year efforts divided into several sub-programs or tasks, ensuring their successful execution. The Program Manager III will define, organize, and direct short- and long-range plans, guide the technical approach, and negotiate for necessary resources with activity and agency personnel. Key responsibilities include establishing and controlling technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs. Job Responsibilities
Oversee the overall planning, direction, and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives. Manage large, multi-year efforts divided into several sub-programs or tasks. Define, organize, and direct short- and long-range plans for the program. Formulate, guide, and direct the technical approach for the program. Negotiate with activity and agency personnel for necessary resources. Establish and control technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs. Monitor program progress and ensure that it meets established milestones and objectives. Provide leadership and direction to program teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. Identify and mitigate program risks, ensuring successful program outcomes. Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to senior management and stakeholders. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in any technical or managerial discipline. 15+ years of professional experience in program/project management. Proven experience in managing large, complex programs with multiple sub-programs or tasks. Strong knowledge of program management principles, practices, and methodologies. Excellent leadership and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to negotiate and secure resources with activity and agency personnel. Proficiency in establishing and controlling technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must Have
Extensive experience in program/project management, particularly in managing large, multi-year efforts. Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to guide and direct program teams. Proven ability to establish and control technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs. Excellent negotiation skills to secure necessary resources. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management and stakeholders. Nice to Have
Advanced degree in a related field. Professional certifications in program/project management (e.g., PMP, PgMP). Experience with systems development efforts or research and technology initiatives. Familiarity with government or agency-specific program management practices and requirements. Experience in risk management and mitigation for large-scale programs.
