JOB OVERVIEW

As a Sr. Salesforce ComplianceQuest Business Systems Analyst within STAAR Surgical’s Information Technology team, this individual plays a critical role working closely with the business and across the Information Technology organization defining, delivering and supporting IT business solutions and supporting roadmaps. In summary this position:

  • Provides cost effective business systems and applications analysis in support of the development and implementation of business applications, including evaluation, analysis, documentation of requirements, translation into proper system requirement specifications and configuration.
  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both end-user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems, applications and industry requirements.
  • Operates as a liaison between technical personnel and the appropriate end-user departments.
  • Evaluates and translates end user needs and problems to technical associates and/or vendors where appropriate.
  • Understands the business implications of technical solutions and assists in defining and documenting the technology solutions to support any future business needs.
  • Instructs end users new technology and enhancements using all appropriate communication tools as well as providing support for existing system.
  • Monitors and maintains applications and restores services for end users.
  • Analyzes application problems and coordinates workable solutions.
  • Participates in system software upgrades including planning and scheduling, coordination and deploying.
  • Ensures availability and performance of systems and application environments through proactive as well as reactive analysis and maintenance.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses to align information technology solutions with business initiatives.
  • Works with business users to define and analyze problems and align the most appropriate technical, application or configuration solutions.
  • Solicits, develops, documents, and manages requirements and provides detailed design and business rules to support the requirements throughout project life cycle up to and through change control.
  • Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
  • Reviews system test plans and system tests modules before implementation.
  • Creates, reviews, and delivers end-user documentation (user guide, process flow charts, and training materials) and training for accuracy.
  • Works with the user to select or create appropriate scenarios to test all results to determine whether system changes met project specifications; uses scenarios to assist the end user in acceptance testing.
  • In upgrades, monitors production performance enhancements and system integrity with end-users.
  • Develops detailed implementation and upgrade project plans in conjunction with other account team associates.
  • Ensures that documentation is updated when change requests are approved for the project.
  • Provides input on processes, procedures, or new approaches.
  • Manages, resolves, and documents issues and events related to system and environment availability.
  • Monitors and measures performance characteristics of applications.
  • Communicates with all stakeholders (customers, development teams, end users, etc.) to address system issues.
  • Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Learns new applications, STAAR Surgical specific technologies (e.g., , “Stella”, “EWOK”), system behavior and business processes as they relate to customer needs.
  • Provides oversight and direction to less experience Business Systems Analysts.
  • Instructs, directs and checks the work of other business systems analysts.
  • Coaches, motivates and guides team members.
  • Utilizes best practice processes around work assignments, project management, and quality of output while maximizing overall team performance.
  • Builds relationships with customers to improve services and ensure service levels are being met.
  • Creates communication plans (correspondence, presentations and other materials) for knowledge transfer to others.
  • Supports multiple application areas, functions or processes.
  • Provides informal mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
  • Manages critical projects, customer engagements or business processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Prefer Undergraduate degree and 6-8 years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 4-6 years relevant experience.


EXPERIENCE

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Familiarity with medical device industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO standards) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Compliance Quest (or equivalent eQMS system) and its implementation for quality, compliance, and regulatory processes is highly desirable.
  • Excellent project management skills (Waterfall, Agile), with the ability to lead projects from initiation to successful implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator) are a plus.
  • Contributes to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of the company's goals, customer requirements and knowledge of competitor practices.
  • Thorough understanding of the company's business priorities, strategy and direction.
  • Thorough understanding and management of customer business needs and expectations.
  • Manages projects and program execution and has demonstrated experience in working with partners for implementation.
  • Excellent mentoring skills for developing subordinate staff.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and systems integration experience between CRM systems with ERP Systems will be a plus.
  • Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of systems analysis, while considering the business implication of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
