About the Opportunity
Join Shutterstock’s Global Business Development team to spearhead the growth and sales of our most innovative products. This team is dedicated to evangelizing data licensing and Generative AI (GenAI) API solutions. Your role will involve proactively identifying new client opportunities, creating and pitching tailored customer strategies, and collaborating with Product and Technology, Content, Finance, and Account Management teams to forge and execute impactful partnerships.
As the Director of New Business, you will play a critical role in expanding our data licensing and GenAI businesses. You will cultivate and nurture strategic relationships, ensuring client success and positioning Shutterstock for sustained growth.
The Day-to-Day:
Pipeline Development: Proactively build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities that drive revenue growth and enhance product adoption within Shutterstock’s data licensing and GenAI API business lines.
Strategic Account Growth: Lead the expansion of key strategic accounts by developing and nurturing deep, trusted relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, and aligning our offerings accordingly.
Client Understanding: Achieve fluency in the businesses of our partners, navigating matrix organizations to uncover potential opportunities and partnerships across various groups.
Tailored Solutions: Analyze client needs and industry trends to propose customized solutions that maximize value for both Shutterstock and our clients, positioning us for increased revenue growth.
Presentations and Pitches: Develop and deliver compelling presentations and pitches to clients, clearly showcasing the value proposition of Shutterstock's data and GenAI products and services.
Senior Leadership Engagement: Cultivate high-level relationships and facilitate introductions to senior leaders within Shutterstock, enhancing collaboration and strategic alignment.
Industry Engagement: Represent Shutterstock at relevant industry conferences and events, staying attuned to market trends and networking with potential clients and partners.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
Experience: 8-12 years of experience in leading strategic partnerships and managing complex transactions within the Media, Data, and/or Technology sectors.
Business Development Expertise: Proven track record in business development, strategic account management, or a related role, with a focus on revenue generation and client satisfaction.
Pipeline Management: Strong ability to build and manage a revenue pipeline across multiple accounts simultaneously, demonstrating organizational and prioritization skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Collaboration: Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a cooperative environment to achieve shared goals.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to assess customer approaches and processes, recommending impactful improvements to drive results.
Proactive Attitude: A ‘can do’ mindset with a willingness to work across multiple projects and support team efforts where needed.

The pay range for this position is below:
160,000 - 210,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
