Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Market Share data. Follow Corporate process for maintaining market share by sweeper technology segment.Continue to refine plans to address market share opportunities.
  • Thorough understanding of the sweeper market (dealer and end customer).
  • Develop extensive knowledge of Elgin products, including but not limited to how to operate, basic maintenance, troubleshoot sweep performance, clean out, and train operators.
  • Utilize Sourcewell product for mining leads, following up and following through on potential demos, sales and voice of customer inputs.
  • Facilitate customer visits through the Elgin Sweeper factory.
  • Utilize JDE software for all position requirements. For example mining option take rate data and managing DNET pricing.
  • Attend and drive customer interaction at trade shows.
  • Lead Voice of Customer (VOC) work to develop and vet ideas for current product improvements.
  • Responsible for pricing of products and options to maximize market share and achieve profitability targets.
  • Act as product specialist to augment dealer demos.This assistance can be in person help or provide specific guidance depending on the situation and what competitive equipment the dealer is facing.
  • Responsible for creation and oversight of maintaining comparative and competitive items with pictures or videos to post on Driving Force.Comparisons include specifications but are also geared towards sales walk around points to showcase enhancements over competitor equipment and win deals.
  • Perform periodic SWOT analysis on major Elgin models for purposes of prioritizing Product Development Roadmap initiatives.
  • Look and evaluate opportunities for inorganic growth including acquisition, JV, vertical integration, etc. and develop a business case for these opportunities with management assistance.
  • Participate as a key member in the Elgin 80/20 product portfolio roadmap project and documentation.
  • Participate in infant care visits on new products.Perform pre-defined product inspection checklist and be able to properly perform Voice of Customer (VOC) to look for meaningful opportunities to delight the customer.
  • Execute delivery of sales training on at least a quarterly basis.
  • Estimate 30-50% travel will be required to attend trade shows and visit with customers.
  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, with discipline in Business, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology or related field highly desired.Master's Degree a plus.
  • Three years' experience with demonstrated high performance in one or more of the following areas: Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Sales, Research and Development, or Product Management is required.
  • Five years' experience in multiple disciplines above with two or more companies highly desirable
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to demonstrate understanding of mechanical products required.
  • Experience in formulating and conducting experiments is a plus.
  • Experience within a mobile equipment industry ideal
  • Must be a strong writer and communicator and bring the voice of the customer to all marketing deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively conduct voice of customer research by looking more deeply at a situation, being an un-biased observer, perceiving and capturing details, and able to identify new patterns for consideration.
  • Able to engage in collaborative inquiry and maintain sustained, effective dialogue with those who have a stake in the situation in order to drive for results and strategic direction.Able to identify, gain agreement and document unmet needs.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial curiosity, High self-starter motivation with drive for results initiative.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and dynamic environment, and comfortable with non-hierarchical organizations.
  • Prior experience with and/or demonstrated ability to learn and thoroughly leverage Sourcewell tool set.
  • Ability to create bold, new ideas and have conviction to present and defend those ideas.
