PPG Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate and develop processes applied to manufacture various transparency products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications! As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will cover all areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Performance Improvement, Process and Capital Improvement and Personal Growth. You will provide hands-on technical support in manufacturing processes and collaborate with our customer's technical team. This position is based on site in our Grand Prairie, TX. facility.Key Responsibilities:Provide manufacturing support, including investigating, and performing root cause analysis on non-conforming products and solve problems with production and take corrective action.Support analysis of returned product to determine corrective action and coordinate product repair.Provide hands-on technical support in all manufacturing processes more specific Polycarbonate panels forming process.Define tooling requirements.Collaborate with tooling during design and multiple tooling stages.Collaborate with design and development groups on new products.Develop Bills of Material and Manufacturing Work Instructions (Travelers) for both current and new jobs.Examine processes, operations, assembly, and equipment to determine time or quality revisions and suggest improvements.Will have priorities including reduction of setup time, variation reduction and an overall improvement in process capability and consistency using Lean Manufacturing concept.Qualifications:BS Degree in Engineering and 3+ years related experience.Experience in Aerospace, or glass/optical industry highly desirableSix Sigma Green Belt or similar Continuous Improvement training / backgroundUS CitizenAbility to acquire security clearances a plus.#LI-OnsitePPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
