** Please no contact from outside recruiters**Key Activities/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.Prepare layouts, assembly drawings, component drawings, illustrations, bills of material, specifications, and other documentation.Design Tooling for Production related items.Develop and lead D.F.M. (Design for Manufacturability) concepts. Work with Design Engineering to make improvements in the design of the products to reduce cost, improve quality and manufacturability.Communicate with suppliers to develop component specifications.Drive process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.Lead process improvement projects assisting in facility layouts and equipment placement.Investigate and make recommendations on the procurement of equipment to improve the manufacturing process.Improve safety in manufacturing by analyzing current and proposed manufacturing processes.Perform other duties, assignments and special projects that may be required from time to time.Implement processes and procedures to drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and documentation.Complete value stream maps of current process to identify improvement opportunities.Ensure that the company's manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations.Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering Technology, another related field required.Job Experience Required: I-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineer capacityExperience with Solid Works is a plusFixture Design knowledge is a plusGreat Plains experience is a plusExperience with AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS is preferred.Skills Required: Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple customersKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plusKnowledge of Theory of Constrains is a plusGood interpersonal skillsGood computer skills, with knowledge of MS Office softwareGood written and oral communication skillsBenefits of Employment: In addition to excellent career growth opportunities, Federal Signal Corporation offers a wide array of benefits including: bonus incentive, insurance (life, medical, dental, vision), paid holidays, paid vacation, paid personal days, 401(k) with matching contributions.We provide our employees with a smoke-free, drug-free workplace.
