Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a role in Franklin, Indiana. This position plays a critical role in remanufacturing operations and sustainability initiatives. The facility focuses on core processing and disassembly, as well as remanufacturing and rebuilding components to like-new performance levels. The main function of a Manufacturing Engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to solve problems related to industrial layout or manufacturing production. The ideal candidate will have the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
Responsibilities
The candidate will spend about 60% of their time working on the shop floor and the other 40% in the office. There is also a 10% travel requirement to sites in Lafayette, IN or Peoria, IL. The role offers the possibility for extension past 18 months and provides an opportunity to get a foot in the door with a prominent company.

Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a role in Franklin, Indiana. This position plays a critical role in remanufacturing operations and sustainability initiatives. The main function of a Manufacturing Engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to solve problems related to industrial layout or manufacturing production. The ideal candidate will have the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to verify adherence to quality assurance specifications.
- Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
- Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
- Observe workers using equipment to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.
- Observe workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine time involved and fatigue rate using timing devices.
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Team player and detail-oriented.
- Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering, such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
- Associates Degree within Engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Basic understanding of gauging and part inspection.
- FMEA and Control Plan Creation.
- Experience in Manufacturing engineering, Lean manufacturing, Process engineering, Work instruction, and Mechanical engineering.
- Nice to Have: Bachelors Degree within Engineering Discipline.
- 3+ years of CAD design experience tied to manufacturing.
