HII works within the weapon systems communities to defend our nation's interests at home and abroad. Our deep expertise in hardware and software development, prototyping, testing, and production enables us to support critical missions at scale for federal agency partners.HII has a need for a Mechanical Engineer who will utilize their comprehensive knowledge of materials, mechanical principles, and engineering methods to design and implement manufacturing systems and processes. Our ideal applicant will have strong communication skills to negotiate manufacturing characteristics among engineers, suppliers, and program management. Essential Job Responsibilities Design, procure, and install manufacturing equipment. Track and drive tasks through to completion. Communicate task status with clarity and brevity to internal and external personnel. Identify, articulate, and manage risks. Manage internal and external relationships. Create and maintain various reports.Minimum Qualifications 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Master's in realted field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. Experience with fabrication and methods of manufacturing. Experience developing manufacturing production lines and equipment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated with strong work-ethic. Ability to anticipate and mitigate programmatic implications of technical challenges. Must be able to communicate effectively with government stakeholders, company leadership, and technical subject matter experts in a wide range of disciplines. Clearance: Must be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance.Preferred Requirements 10 years relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience with Design-for-Manufacturing. Experience with SolidWorks. Experience managing tasks within budgets. Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Experience working within a Department of Defense contract. Master's degree in mechanical engineering. Clearance: Active SECRET security clearance.Physical Requirements May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment.
