Where Hard Stuff is done right!!The HII UxS Manufacturing Engineering Team is the liaison between design and manufacturing, responsible for establishing and maintaining processes to manufacture HII-UxS products with predictable results. We drive product and process improvements that positively impact manufacturing cost, quality, lead time, and safety. This Manufacturing Engineer 2 role will primarily support the transition to manufacturing of HII's new products.Primary Responsibilities:•Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.•Develop comprehensive and effective solutions to manufacturing problems affecting quality or performance-based metrics.•Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.•Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.•Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.•May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.•Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.•Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.•Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.•Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.What you will be doing..Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.What we are looking for..Required Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing best practices, Lean principles, Six Sigma, 8D, DFMA, work cell design and factory floor layout, and adherence to ISO quality requirements and standards. Strong applied troubleshooting skills and knowledge of continuous improvement tools, with proven track record measured by manufacturing or quality based metrics. Proficiency in the creation of build documentation packages, development and implementation of procedures to manufacture, assemble, and test production product under tight regulatory controls. Ability to manage time and priorities to meet multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines. Proficiency in MSOffice tools and Solidworks, or other CAD software.
