The Manufacturing Engineer will lead the implementation of manufacturing processes including but not limited to workflow, process characterization, and process monitoring/control methods. This position will troubleshoot problems within the production process and will lead continuous improvement / corrective actions programs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAlong with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.Analyze work-flow processes within and across all departments to determine how the entire company can work better together.Work closely with teams consisting of representatives from purchasing, planning, operations, quality, and product management to formulate and administer the company's continuous improvement and quality strategy, policies, goals, and documentation.Cross functional member to support documentation review, which may include bills of material, new material drawings and engineering instructions.Observe and analyze processes with the ability to utilize performance data to identify areas for improvement.Perform efficiency studies to identify true costs and identify areas of waste.Correlate operational metrics related to Labor, Yield, Throughput, etc. to KPI's in order to translate improvement opportunities into cost savings.Manage projects including cost tracking, ROI calculations, resource allocation, and meeting deadline requirements.Support AS/ISO audit process as well as customer and supplier audits.Coordinate with operations to facilitate problem solving and troubleshooting at the manufacturing floor level.Create standard work that supports our operators to safety and efficiently produce components.Travel as needed, less than 5% typical.Relationship Management Liaise with internal stakeholders and obtain appropriate information and data to prepare waste reduction initiatives.Support meetings supplying relevant data, provide updates on plans and highlight concerns relating to actual or potential issues.Escalate any issues to Manager or others in the organization particularly when there is risk which could prevent the organization meeting internal or external demands.Qualifications and Experience LevelsBachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or manufacturing-related degree preferred.Five years' experience with process improvement in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated success in project management.Incumbent should have extensive knowledge in Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methods.Knowledge of an ability to provide up to date technological advances.Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office experience - Word, Excel, Access, Power PointStrong aptitude for electrical/electromechanical design as well as possession of well-developed mechanical skillset.Must be very willing to be a "hands on" engineer.Self-ManagementAdhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, other staff, and visitors.Assertive, optimistic and welcomes change.Engages interest and participation of others.Proactively contributes to the team.Is self-aware and has a collaborative approach to working with others.Shows moral courage, openness, and honesty in all dealings.Resilient, flexible and works well under pressureSkills and AttributesStrong ability to identify problems, root causes and preventative measures.Strong competency in analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong numeracy, statistical and reporting skills with the ability to analyze, interpret and manage information, data and trends.Will be able to organize projects or teams throughout a department/company to accomplish broad sweeping changes and improvements.Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate complex concepts to all levels of the company in both oral and written methods.Strong ability to present to groups.Excellent attention to detail with being results driven.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
