SUMMARY
The MANUFACTURING ENGINEER is responsible for improving overall processes and related items.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties
- Creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures used to manufacture, assemble, process and test the Company’s products.
- Identifying and improving overall processes including, but not limited to:
- Process development.
- Scheduling
- Creating process documentation
- Product manufacture, assembly, and testing.
- Problem solving.
- Capacity
- Safety
- Equipment
- Design, installation, operation, and debug of tooling and capital equipment.
- Implementing Lean ideals, principles, and methods throughout the facility – focusing on cost reduction, process improvement and waste elimination.
- Following established quality systems and procedures as required.
- The Manufacturing Engineer is expected to communicate within the organization.
Required Skills/Abilities
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and oral, with customers, vendors and employees is essential. Must possess a good understanding of business writing formats.
- Must be able to develop and write project analysis utilizing standard computer formats such as: Excel, Word and similar.
- Experience with CAD, CAM, Access, and PowerPoint is desired, but not required.
- The senses of sight, speech, taste, touch, and hearing are required.
- Must be able to communicate well in English, both written and verbal, including technical terminology.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred, but not required.
Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree or equivalent, preferably in a field related to filtration and/or light industrial assembly.
- Prior experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Walking is required within the office, production, and warehouse areas. This position requires walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers. The Manufacturing Engineer may lift letter and legal-size storage boxes full of records. The requirements may include standing on short ladders and lifting heavy boxes of fifty plus pounds.
