Currently, we are undergoing a major $3.7M plant overhaul with updated lighting; new equipment; new lunch room and completely renovated men's and women's locker room spaces. Our specialty is Dexco Structural Steel I-Beam Racking Systems, where we are an industry leader in design and manufacturing.

We are looking for an experience 2nd Shift Production Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have metal fabrication and/or manufacturing experience (preferably looking for candidates with welding experience) and leading teams in that environment. We are focused on delivering integrity and world class craftsmanship to our clients. Our goal is to deliver faster, more affordable, and better products.
Their purpose will be to oversee 2nd Shift operations and will be responsible for leading and developing employees, as well as meeting defined Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for Safety, Quality, Production, and Efficiency. Schedule priority production machines and/or lines and employees accordingly. Assist and work under the direction of the Plant Manager. Primary Duties
- The primary objective of the supervisor is to: guide, direct, and mentor the staff within the department; to assign and prioritize tasks; and to promote a "safety first" culture throughout their team.
- Have ownership and demonstrate leadership necessary to achieve goals specific to Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Employee Development.
- Supervising the robotic welding cells; setting up / programing the Robotic welding machines to finish weld assemblies to meet or exceed customer requirements in a timely manner; making adjustments to the machine as needed; making suggestions for fixturing and checking welding components for visible defects (highly desired).
- This position is a shift supervisor reporting to the Operations Manager. This position oversees and coordinates the activities of workers in various work areas including sawing, punching (hydraulic and mechanical presses), welding, shot blasting, and powder coating.
Responsibilities

- Maintain work flow by establishing priorities, assigning duties to workers, and adjusting work procedures to meet production schedule needs.
- Track production, analyze and forecast productivity, and provide data and support to the management team to ensure productivity meets or exceeds expectations.
- Build a team work atmosphere within own areas of responsibility and between departments. Communicate answers to questions and respond to employee requests.
- Coordinate training of new employees and mentoring team, providing feedback and discipline as necessary.
- Participate, lead and implement 5S efforts and projects on designated shift to resolve manufacturing and technical issues that impact manufacturing, costs, cycle time, etc.
- Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required.
- Liaising with other shift supervisor and management, reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement.
- Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment (preferred).
- Monitor and approve employee time keeping records.
- Review labor reporting related to production and maintain team accuracy.
- Reflect a positive “can do” attitude toward people, company policies and procedures.
- Support management decisions, or disagree in a positive, constructive manner.
- Perform assigned duties and responsibilities efficiently.
- Willingness to perform other tasks not related to your present Position Description.
- Ability to maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.
- This position requires a minimum of 80% of time on the shop floor.
Skills & Qualifications
- Autonomous/Independent -- can work with little direction
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with metals manufacturing (required)
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
- Displays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachable
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints (required)
- Ability to apply basic math principles including fractions and basic geometry.
- 3+ years gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and fabricating experience (highly desirable)
- 3+ years lead/supervisory experience (required)
- Trade school certification or advanced degree from an accredited institution in welding (preferred but not required)

5 day workweek
- 8 - hour shift
- M-F, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
OT as required and occasionally MANDATORY
