Manufacturing Support Engineer
Stoughton, Wisconsin - Full Time
Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Stoughton, Wisconsin. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will be an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Support Engineer with expertise in collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to resolve design challenges during the production process. This role focuses on ensuring seamless coordination between design and manufacturing, addressing any issues that arise as products are being built, and facilitating a smooth transition from design to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a focus on manufacturing processes, and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve design-related production issues.
This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization.
Duties:
- Collaborate closely with the design engineering team to identify, analyze, and resolve design issues that impact manufacturability, quality, and cost-efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional teams to suggest design improvements and modifications that optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and product assembly.
- Analyze manufacturing challenges, use root cause analysis and other problem-solving techniques to determine solutions and improve production workflows.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring that design specifications are met while enhancing productivity, reducing waste, and minimizing downtime.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to the manufacturing team, addressing any engineering-related questions or concerns on the shop floor.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by providing technical input, conducting data analysis, and recommending process improvements based on manufacturing feedback and performance metrics.
- Work with quality assurance, procurement, and production teams to ensure that design changes or adjustments are feasible and effectively implemented in manufacturing.
- Maintain accurate records of engineering changes, modifications, and resolutions related to design and manufacturing issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, specifically in supporting design-to-manufacturing transition, troubleshooting, and resolving design-related production challenges.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for reviewing and suggesting design modifications.
- Familiarity with PV&V (Product Validation and Verification) processes is a plus.
