Job Description
The hiring client is an industry leading metal identification solutions provider with 100+ years of manufacturing experience. The client is an ISO 9001:2008 certified company that provides top quality etched and screen-printed stainless steel and aluminum nameplates, data plates, tags and printed metal products.
We are currently seeking an experienced Laser and CNC Operator for our Night shift (Mon - Thur, 8 PM - 6:30 am, 10 hr shifts with some overtime). This individual will be responsible for achieving production targets, meeting quality specifications, and operating safely while operating a variety of equipment (laser etching, cutting, CNC cutting, robotic stacking, and more.) The position will also maintain equipment, supplies, and quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
• Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations. This includes aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto the machine.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
• To share expertise and knowledge throughout the machine shop and be a focal point for advice on machining operations.
• Use skills to protect against potential damage to all machines.
• Assist in the progression of training and planned development of all machinists.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years manufacturing operating experience with knowledge of machining operations and tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering plans, procedure manuals and work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of math, geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to quickly learn and cross-train across the facility on a variety of types of equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
