Quality Manager - Direct Hire Opportunity
SUMMARY
The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining the highest quality standards for our products in accordance with customer and company requirements. This individual will support, develop, and at times, manage quality-related activities and provide technical direction and training to quality technicians and manufacturing personnel. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with customer quality requirements and assistance with the passing of all customer audits. Additionally, the Quality Manager will assist in the development and execution of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF16949 programs. Occasional travel will be required.
SALARY
$100,000.00 Annually

- 10 years of relevant QC experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF work environment
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Knowledge of effective team-building approaches, and team dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks/projects simultaneously
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned as required by the needs of the business.
- Inspect, test, or measure products for conformance to specification – first article and in-process inspections.
- Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
- Read blueprints, data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.
- Complete Product Parts Approval Process paperwork.
- Review outsourced parts for conformity for release to production.
- Determine acceptance or rejections of materials based on measurements and test results.
- Complete inspections using optical comparators, coordinate measuring machines, and other advanced measuring equipment.
- Complete quality assessments.
- Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated correctly.
- Determine quality assurance of products prior to movement throughout manufacturing. Collaborate with management, manufacturing associates, and supervisors/leads concerning inspection results.
- Knowledge and use of word processors, spreadsheets, databases, and applicable inspection equipment.
- Select special characteristics, set quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventive actions, manufacturing process design and capacity analysis, logistics information, customer scorecards, and customer portals.
- Possess the authority to stop shipment in the event of a quality problem and to stop production in order to correct the quality problem.
- Responsible for identifying and containing all potential nonconforming products, ensuring they are not shipped to customers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum High school diploma or GED (High school equivalent diploma) and a minimum of 10 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions and correspondence, blueprints, specs, and memos. Ability to write simple to complex correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. The ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Follow all safety rules and regulations and report all safety issues that are found on the manufacturing plant floor.
