Summary
IGT is seeking a Quality Engineer for Lakeland, FL! The Quality Engineer position will work with production staff and subject matter experts in a team environment. The purpose of this role is to ensure product quality, reduce customer complaints, and drive process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure superior customer satisfaction in product quality and delivery
- Develop improved inspection methods to analyze product quality and make recommendations for change
- Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve quality
- Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standardsBrainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems
- Formulate a strategic plan to increase productivity in the business. Perform inspections and document findings
- Implement a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process. Troubleshoot quality control issues
- Manage raw material qualifications
- Maintain quality management system (QMS) database
- Perform continuous research and data analysis tasks in relation to process improvements. Create and update the company's quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability and performance
- Create and update documentation and errors relating to the production process with efforts to find a solution
- Analyzing data and communicating test results to manufacturing team
- Identify, assess, and initiate cost reduction opportunities to reduce operational costs
- Work with manufacturing teams to establish quality specifications and standards for manufacturing processes
- Lead process improvement projects through the utilization of tools such as DOE, Six Sigma, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis and Lean
- Coordinate activities between departments internally and outside visitors externally
- Maintain contact with varying levels of the organization to gather information and prepare reports
- Ensure confidentiality of critical information within the leadership team
Qualifications

Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
Experience Required
- 3+ years of dedicated manufacturing or quality engineer experience
- 5+ years of overall manufacturing experience
Skills Required
- Microsoft Office Suite - advanced level proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus MS Teams
- Strong skills in time management, project management, communication (written / verbal) and organization
- Excellent interpersonal skills, dependability, and the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
- Strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, a high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic Ability to work under minimal supervision under tight time constraints
- Ability to work independently, but also partner as a team player
- Six Sigma and Lean experience
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within quality field
- Must be able to write ISO procedures and work instructions
- Strong mathematical, analysis, and project management skills
Preferred Education, Experience or Skills
- Engineering or Engineering Technology Degree
- ISO 9001 experience
- ISO Auditing experience a plus
- Printing, manufacturing, or process engineering experience a plus
