This includes new launches as well as continuous improvement initiatives. Applicants for this position must have "hands on" mentality and understand that Engineering is a support function for Operations. This position reports directly to the GSC Operations Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties as described below:Your Responsibilities Learn product and processes for areas supported Conduct elemental time studies as required Conduct Kaizen events in conjunction with cross functional teams. Complete documentation of activities as required. Submit cost reduction and innovation ideas. Participate in continuous improvement programs and activities to ensure meeting of departmental performance objectives. Who we are looking for Strong problem solving skills, excellent analytical and statistical skill sets. Strong computer skills to include; Microsoft Word, Excel, & Lotus Notes. Experience with AutoCAD preferred. Well developed communication skills - both verbal and written. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and the management team, along with the ability to present detailed reports. Strong math & SPC skills. Must have a very positive "can do" attitude and be a self-starter. Your preferred qualifications Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and have a high tolerance for stressful situations. Must have the ability to read automotive blueprints and engineering specifications. Demonstrated ability to lead and encourage groups to effective results.
