Job Description
Can Corporation of America is a leader in the manufacturing of steel cans used in agriculture and various other industries. We are seeking for a Manufacturing Engineer for our Blandon facility. (10 minutes outside of Reading)
Manufacturing Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
· Create, designs, and details models and drawings for manufacturing departments.
· Redesign existing equipment/machinery and modifies existing drawings
· Analyze and support the manufacturability of new and existing products.
· Design, assemble, test, and debug manual, semi-automated and automated tooling and equipment.
· Use of Solidworks 3D modeling software to generate fully detailed solutions to engineering problems.
· Manage Advanced Manufacturing projects from initiation through design, manufacturing, and implementation.
· Attend engineering meetings and use communication techniques to collect information needed to establish design specifications for each project.
· Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, engineers, machinists, and production personnel.
· Create and Document Work Instructions, SOP etc.
· Be part of the Safety Team to help create a safer workplace
· Be able to work Independently and a hands-on approach.
· Work with a Team of Maintenance personnel to complete projects in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineer) with three (3) to five (5) years of related experience
· Knowledge of Solidworks and AutoCAD.
· Proficient with MS office Software and SAP experience preferred.
· Knowledge/Certification of Lean/Six Sigma is preferred.
· Experience with continuous improvement projects and techniques.
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Apply oral and written capabilities to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues, managers, clients, vendors, and customers.
· Ability to use appropriate engineering formulas and principles to calculate associated solutions to engineering problems.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
· The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
