Job Overview

Our client, a global leader in packaging solutions, is seeking a Plant Engineer to join their team. As a Plant Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring optimal equipment reliability and driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead safety protocols and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations to maintain a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Implement and sustain a reliability-centered maintenance process to maximize machine uptime, enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and reduce operational costs.
  • Develop and support maintenance personnel through technical training, ensuring they possess the necessary skills for effective job performance.
  • Oversee the scoping, budgeting, and execution of capital projects, identifying and implementing technical improvements to equipment and processes.
  • Use reliability tools to investigate equipment failures, develop countermeasures, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.
  • Act as an integral part of the plant leadership team, promoting teamwork and driving high standards for performance and process improvements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years leading a plant maintenance department in an industrial setting or 5+ years in a manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements for industrial equipment and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, 5Why’s) to eliminate equipment breakdowns and improve plant performance.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), TPM, and reliability-focused maintenance processes.
  • Proven ability to build and develop a collaborative, efficient maintenance team focused on operational excellence.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and predictive maintenance processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CMMS preferred.
