Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for performing a variety of preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical systems within our nutraceutical manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and systems according to established maintenance plans.
    • Inspect and test equipment to identify potential problems and ensure optimal performance.
    • Lubricate and adjust machinery as needed.
  • Corrective Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures.
    • Repair or replace faulty components to restore equipment functionality.
    • Respond to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.
  • Safety and Quality:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
    • Ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained in a safe and compliant condition.
    • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of quality control systems.
  • Lean-Sigma:
    • Demonstrate knowledge of lean-sigma manufacturing principles and tools.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
    • Provide timely reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in mechanical and electrical maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology).
  • Lean-sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
  • Experience in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical industry.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and stoop for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily work in a manufacturing facility, which may include exposure to noise, chemicals, and high temperatures.
  • May occasionally work overtime or on weekends to support manufacturing or address urgent maintenance issues.
