Job Description
Scope:
The Microsection Operator is responsible for evaluating samples obtained from various sections of finished production panels to ensure the quality of the laminate system and the plated-through holes. This role involves recording and communicating findings to maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
· Inspect samples against customer specifications to ensure compliance.
· Perform potting, grinding, and inspection of microsections using a microscope.
· Conduct thermal stress and solderability tests as required.
· Communicate findings and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure quality standards are met.
· Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure the equipment is well-maintained.
· Maintain accurate reports and logs to track quality assessments.
Requirements:Equipment Utilized:
· Microscope
· Auto grinding wheel and hand grinding equipment
· Solder pot
· Section molds
· Oven
· Microsection log
· Thermal stress test equipment
Experience and Education Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· 1-5 years of relevant experience, including direct and progressive experience in hands-on PCB manufacturing and/or microsection analysis, is preferred.
· Proficiency in understanding, reading, writing, and following detailed work instructions in English.
· Ability to work independently, adhering to manufacturing work instructions.
· Strong basic math skills, including the ability to work with decimals and fractions, and applying these skills to various measuring instruments.
· Basic computer literacy is required.
Working Conditions:
This position operates primarily in a laboratory environment, requiring periods of sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and occasional walking.
