About This role:
Use your material flow skills to ensure customer orders are completed on time while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. You’ll be receiving and putting away material, pulling material for production, responsible for inventory control, continuous improvement activities, and shipping customer orders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work from work orders sheets, shipping pick lists, vendor pack slips, verbal and written instructions from supervisor
- Be prepared to walk around the warehouse to perform various tasks as assigned, including restocking, assisting with loading/unloading, or troubleshooting
- Comprehend and utilize HAZMAT shipment procedures
- Prepare all documentation needed for shipment
- Assist in training employees as directed
- Maintain security in warehouse and dock area
- Maintain necessary records
- Move materials as necessary in performance of duties
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor
- Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly conditions
- Conduct regular safety checks and maintain a clean work environment by walking through the warehouse to identify hazards or areas that need attention
- Move throughout the warehouse to inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report any issues promptly
- Operate and maintain warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts, requiring regular movement across different areas
- Communicate and coordinate with team members across the warehouse floor (or 2nd building) to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow
- Follow established company rules and regulations
- Maintain quality standards
Required Qualifications:
We are seeking a candidate who can maintain a high level of activity and stand for extended periods while working with a sense of urgency, prioritizing safety, and upholding quality standards. You will need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6+ months reading orders, part numbers, descriptions, and quantities in a Warehouse
- 1+ years of Warehouse Management Software or other computer applications
- Must be able to stand and remain active for up to 8 hours, frequently lift packages weighing up to 60 pounds, and operate manual material handling equipment as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in warehousing environment, preferably in manufacturing
- Experience with inventory control activities
- Experience in production facility
