EFDA's, are you looking for an office where you can put your full skillset on display? We are looking for an energetic, friendly, and highly-skilled expanded functions dental assistant. Non-expanded assistants need not apply. X-ray certification is required. Hourly pay will depend on experience. The job is full-time, and the office is currently open Mon-Thurs from 8am-5pm. We are looking for someone who is very reliable, has a positive attitude, great communication skills, and can adapt to the changing field of dentistry. The candidate must be able to multi-task and be a team player! Our office has 3 dentists, and we pride ourselves in patient education, quality of comprehensive care, and state-of-the-art technologies. We are excited to welcome another team member to the Zent Family Dentistry team!

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures.
  • Assist dentists during examinations and dental procedures.
  • Take X-rays (PAs, bitewings, Panoramics, CBCTs).
  • Record vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness in the clinical area.
  • Place resin fillings, use an intra-oral camera and scanner, place build ups, fabricate and place temporary crowns/bridges, assist with denture and partial procedures, take impressions, minimal lab work, etc.
  • Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and education on oral hygiene.
  • Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including documentation, calling patients, inventory management, making patient appointments, etc.
  • Stay updated on dental practices, technologies, and regulations to provide the best care.

Skills

  • Proficient in dental terminology and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of vital signs monitoring techniques.
  • Experience with X-Ray procedures and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with dental coding practices.
  • Familiarity with computers and ability to problem solve technical issues
  • Competence in using Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software.
  • Strong understanding of infection control standards in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
