Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Technology Manager will oversee the management of equipment, facility maintenance, capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, and manufacturing engineering, while leading continuous improvement initiatives for our primary manufacturing site. This role focuses on optimizing equipment performance and facility operations, using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. The position requires a strategic approach to Lean Manufacturing, driving initiatives to improve operational efficiency and process engineering, while providing exceptional internal customer service to production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Lead the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies across all equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and enhanced productivity. Manage preventive maintenance programs, ensuring equipment reliability and tracking Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to measure and improve efficiency, availability, and performance. Collaborate with the engineering team to identify equipment improvements that increase production capacity and reduce operational costs
  • Manufacturing Process Engineering: Oversee the design and optimization of production equipment and processes, ensuring alignment with Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance throughput. Implement Andon systems and other lean tools to ensure quick responses to equipment issues, minimizing disruptions to production. Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops, using Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and eliminate inefficiencies across all manufacturing processes
  • Capital Expenditure (CapEx) Project Management: Plan and execute capital projects, including equipment upgrades, facility improvements, and technology implementations, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals. Lead cross-functional teams in evaluating new technologies and implementing innovative solutions that improve overall manufacturing capability and support future growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Champion Operational Excellence initiatives, ensuring the application of Lean Manufacturing techniques across the organization. Drive cost reduction, waste minimization, and productivity increases through process improvement projects. Monitor and track key performance metrics such as OEE, equipment downtime, and operational efficiency, ensuring continuous improvement in manufacturing operations .
  • Internal Customer Service: Serve as a key liaison between the manufacturing technology team and production teams, ensuring that equipment and facility issues are addressed promptly to support continuous operations. Work with production management to understand internal customer needs, providing timely and efficient solutions to improve production capacity and quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to align manufacturing technology efforts with overall production goals. Work with finance and senior management to align CapEx initiatives with budget targets and long-term operational goals .


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field. Advanced certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing management, with a focus on equipment maintenance, process engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience managing CapEx projects and driving Lean Manufacturing transformations is essential.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of TPM, OEE, and preventive maintenance best practices. Proven leadership in implementing Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee large capital projects and process improvement efforts. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a track record of driving continuous improvement through technical and managerial strategies

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who excels at integrating maintenance, engineering, and operational excellence strategies. They should be highly skilled in using TPM and OEE to optimize equipment performance, while leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives that streamline processes and reduce operational costs. Experience in managing complex CapEx projects and cross-functional collaboration is critical, particularly in fast-paced manufacturing environments where continuous improvement is a key focus.
