About the Role
The Company is actively seeking a dynamic Director of Government Relations and Community Engagement. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary liaison to government and elected officials at all levels, as well as leaders from community organizations. Your mission will be to advance our organization’s goals by building and nurturing effective partnerships focused on governmental, civic, community, and nonprofit sectors.
Your responsibilities will include managing community-related issues, developing government and community relations strategies, and leading outreach initiatives. You will play a key role in the budget process, drive advocacy programs, and spearhead efforts aimed at addressing educational and healthcare disparities.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and at least eight years of relevant experience. A Master's degree or higher is preferred. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a strong asset. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in cultivating and managing grants, possess excellent judgment, and demonstrate an ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively.
Key attributes for success include being proactive, independent, and collaborative within the senior staff team. You will also be responsible for developing grant proposals, monitoring legislative initiatives, and acting as a spokesperson for our institution's legislative affairs. Please note that this position may require evening and weekend hours, and you will report directly to the Dean.
