THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to spearhead our data security initiatives, drive innovation, and lead a best-in-class security program. Reporting to the Chief Trust Officer, this role will be responsible for centralizing and elevating all data security controls, ensuring comprehensive coverage across our data environments, and developing a cohesive and agile team of security professionals. This role will also have an external-facing role, serving as a thought leader and educator to Chief Data Officers (CDOs), Chief Information Officers (CIOs), and Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) across the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the strong data security posture of the company, complying with SOC2 type II, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO27001.
Conduct and manage security assessments and provide recommendations for improvement.
Stay current with industry trends and regulations to inform product development and client strategies.
Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Deliver compelling presentations on Cyera's security capabilities to potential clients.
Contribute to the development of go-to-market strategies for new security features and products.
Build and maintain strong relationships with client CISOs and security teams.
Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure that security features meet client needs.
Contribute to the development of security-focused marketing materials and thought leadership content.
Participate in strategic planning sessions to align security initiatives with overall business goals.
Ensure that all data security practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
Identify, assess, and mitigate data-related risks by establishing a robust risk management program.
Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams to monitor and enhance security and privacy practices.
Drive adoption of innovative security technologies and methodologies that enable efficient and resilient security controls.
Oversee the deployment of new architectures and AI-enabled tools, prioritizing automation and predictive capabilities.
Evaluate and integrate third-party solutions as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational and data security objectives.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 15+ years of experience in information security, with at least 6 years in a senior leadership role. Deep understanding of data security, compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA), and cloud security. Strong technical background with the ability to understand and articulate complex security concepts. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven track record of driving growth and innovation in security-focused roles. Travel:
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. COMPENSATION INFORMATION: In addition to a standard benefits and equity package, we offer a generous salary.
