Network Architect - Tallahassee FL

Infrastructure Operations team is seeking a skilled Network Architect to review the current network design and strategy. The goal is to ensure adherence to network security and operational best practices across on-premises and cloud environments. The role will also involve making recommendations for improved segmentation, system hardening, and enhancing the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical information. Additionally, the Network Architect will support the telecommunications team in migrating to a cloud-managed phone system.Responsibilities:Conduct an in-depth analysis of the Departments network topology and security strategies.Identify architectural, design, and security deficiencies, and document findings.Develop improved network security strategies for on-premises and Azure environments.Provide recommendations to enhance network security, scalability, and resiliency.Prepare detailed implementation plans for suggested improvements.Evaluate the feasibility of SD-WAN, including a cost-benefit analysis and implementation roadmap.Drive continuous improvement and optimization initiatives.Develop comprehensive technical documentation of the proposed designs and facilitate knowledge transfer to Department staff.Minimum Qualifications:At least 7 years of IT experience in infrastructure and network environments, including network planning, architecture design, and optimization.Strong communication skills (verbal and written).Proficiency in designing and maintaining Layer 2 and Layer 3 networks.Experience in troubleshooting routing and switching issues.Hands-on experience configuring and administering Next-Generation Firewalls.Preferred Qualifications:Expertise in assessing network topology and architecture.Proficiency in wireless infrastructure design, management, and troubleshooting.Experience with Zero Trust Architecture design.Familiarity with hybrid and cloud telephony/VoIP solutions.Knowledge of Azure networking architecture, design, and hardening.Experience working with Palo Alto hardware.Skilled in remote access solutions. recblid qp2gj2p4a2l8q5qo2xuhme1hlupycj
