Position Summary:
Performs all daily HR administrative functions as a support to the Human Resources Department. Primary responsibilities involve serving as the benefits plan administrator, payroll, and assisting with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and offboarding duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: Serves as the benefits plan administrator processing both onboarding and offboarding information, retirement benefits, submitting monthly billing reports, ensures compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and responsible for the distribution of the 1095-C forms. Assists the Director of Human Resources in the purchasing of health insurance and other benefit programs. Serves as the co-chair for the Benefits and Wellness Committee providing information and seeking input on ways to enhance employee involvement in wellness initiatives. Coordinates the annual employee benefits fair. Administers, processes, and maintains information required by law with the FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and COBRA, etc. Assists in performing all tasks related to the Recruiting, Hiring and Onboarding functions. These tasks involve posting open positions, screening applications and resumes, scheduling onboarding meetings, processing new hire paperwork, creating and maintaining new employee files, and tracking 90-day reviews. Serves as a support role for the payroll process. Works in conjunction with the HR team on annual projects such as processing W-2's, audits, fiscal year end roll, reports, and/or surveys. Administrative responsibilities include creating written documentation from the HR office, responding to employee inquiries and processing employee verifications Assists with all activities involving the bargaining unit. Generate and review reports; update data/information and track changes; may run database queries. Assists with updating College website information as applicable. Assists with updating and writing College policies and training manuals. Completes other related HR duties as assigned. Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field. 1-2 years of professional Business Administration and/or Human Resources experience. Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of various HR policies and procedures Experience with Banner is preferred Demonstrate ability to multitask and manage in a dynamic, changing environment Proficient in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail Demonstrate ability to work with a diverse group of individuals Demonstrate ability to work as a team player, and collaborate with colleagues Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills Effective problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality **This position has a starting salary of $45,500
