Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse - Lakeview Family Medicine West Des Moines, Iowa Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm **$5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates. Responsibilities: We are looking for a skilled and caring Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team and contribute to the high standard of care we offer our patients. As a Certified Medical Assistant in our Family Practice Clinic, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care. You will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals, performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Greet patients, take and record vital signs, gather medical history, and prepare patients for exams and procedures. Clinical Duties:
Assist with routine procedures, administer injections, perform basic lab tests, and manage specimen collection. Ensure that exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patients. Patient Education:
Provide patients with instructions related to their care, including medication administration, lifestyle recommendations, and follow-up care. Answer patient questions and address concerns with empathy. Administrative Support:
Manage patient records using the electronic health record (EHR) system, schedule appointments, handle phone calls, and assist with billing and insurance processing as needed. Coordination:
Work closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care, including coordinating referrals, follow-up appointments, and communicating with other healthcare providers. Inventory Management:
Monitor medical supplies and ensure all necessary equipment is maintained and functioning properly. Qualifications:
Certification:
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from an accredited program or apprenticeship program or Current Licensure as an LPN, State of Iowa in good standing. Experience:
Previous experience in a family practice or primary care setting is preferred but not required. Skills:
Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a patient-focused approach to care. Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and standard medical office procedures. CPR Certification:
Current CPR certification required. Interpersonal Skills:
