Job Summary: Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and resolve issues related to Ushu Kundu MD College of Health/School of Nursing and ITS. Utilize strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks independently, with minimal direct supervision. Handle basic technical problems, explaining relevant policies and practices effectively. Maintain weekly communication with the supervisor to ensure alignment and support. Log all calls and work orders in an electronic tracking system, ensuring accurate records. Redirect unresolved issues to appropriate personnel for further assistance. Provide first-level technical support for Nursing faculty/staff Configure, set up, and troubleshoot computing endpoints and technology-enhanced classrooms. Participate in healthcare simulation in an operations specialist role. Supports technology for evening and weekend courses at off-campus locations. Must provide own transportation to locations.

Position Qualifications: The Desktop Support Engineer I serves as a key contact for technology support within a designated area, such as the Ushu Kundu, MD College of Health at the University of West Florida (UWF). This role involves providing technical assistance, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance on technology projects, including their procurement and lifecycle management. Collaboration with central IT leadership is essential for effective service delivery.
Preferred Qualifications Entry-level professional certifications or credentials, or Advanced education, or At least 1 year of relevant technical support experience.
Essential Functions / Job Duties:
35% - Help Desk: Assist in ensuring that College of Health's (COH) School of Nursing's classroom, Simulation Labs, faculty/staff, and student technology equipment is repaired in a timely fashion during evening and weekend periods. Use help desk software that provides the means to log in problems and track them until resolved. Repair hardware as necessary and analyze/troubleshoot software as needed. Assist in the delivery of all COH technical support services including installation, maintenance, modification, and operating systems performance. Support hardware and software of single-use and multi-use University computers. Coordinate with the supervisor to provide end-user support of equipment and software. - (Essential) 20% - Adapt to evolving technology needs and assist with special projects as assigned. Contribute to the development and implementation of IT administrative policies and asset management for UKCOH/Nursing. This position is crucial in ensuring that UKCOH/Nursing faculty, staff, and students have reliable access to technology and support, fostering a productive academic environment. - (Essential) 15% - Software Installation, Maintenance, and Repair: Provides high level of support to network users for office automation applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and other productivity software; troubleshoots software problems; resolves software issues that come from the Help Desk; customizes systems applications for personal computers; loads - (Essential) 5% - Prepare quotes for technology-related purchases as needed. - (Essential) 10% - Educate staff on IT policies and best practices. Use device management and deployment tools to ensure compliance with university standards. - (Essential) 15% - Perform on-site technical support, including equipment setup and troubleshooting and demonstrate focused simulation expertise with learners in undergraduate, graduate, allied health, or healthcare practitioners. - (Essential)
