Job Summary:
The
Painter
operates and maintains the spray paint equipment. This role ensures Martin products are painted according to established quality standards and within the required time frames. This role also cross-trains to ensure products are built, assembled and prepared for final shipping to the customer. This role requires maintaining a clean and organized work cell.
Responsibilities & Duties: Operates and maintains the paint equipment including wet paint and powder paint. Ensures all paint processes are performed satisfactorily during the project. Maintains paint inventory, ensuring paint products are stored and handled in appropriate manners. Cleans and prepares parts or assemblies for painting or finishing operations; hangs clean parts on the paint line. Operates and maintains the parts washer; maintains oil and water level and refills as necessary. *Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations particular to the working conditions. Assembles product components following procedures and drawings; uses tools and methods necessary to produce quality assemblies; performs soldering, wiring, plumbing, testing, brazing, etc. Initiates procedures which comply with OSHA / MSHA requirements regarding safety issues, use of safety equipment, material safety data sheets, etc. Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required. Establishes individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and lean manufacturing objectives. Participates as a member of the department's team and/or other teams as assigned and contributes in accomplishing the team's goals. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, or one-year experience required. One or more years experience with paint, solvents and spray guns.
