Job Description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job duties of a System Administrator includes but is not limited to working under general technical guidance, specializing in voice, communications switching, video, telemetry, situational awareness data transport and support systems within a real-time mission support environment. Perform network system administration tasks on work center systems such as communications distribution, data acquisition and distribution, range data transmission systems and associated ancillary equipment systems in accordance with standard industry practices, manufacturer data, applicable DoD policies, and local directives. The System Administrator is responsible for leading work center personnel in resolving real-time mission support anomalies, performing daily network monitoring, and provides the status of all work center networks. The candidate shall implement and enforce new and update existing network system administration policies. Identify network and system administration weaknesses and problem areas and provide recommendations for corrective actions, must have the knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot data and telecommunication networks and equipment. The selected candidate will be required to provide real-time operational mission support within the various sections of the work center, will be required to lead work center personnel in accomplishing real-time operational mission support, will maintain networking equipment to include problem isolation and repair to the lowest repairable unit level. The candidate will oversee work center personnel in the performance of Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) activities on applicable networking equipment and will develop and maintain network PMI procedures as required. The candidate, as the subject matter expert, will develop, modify, and review Operating Instructions for general network and system administration tasks within the work center. The candidate will implement and adhere to all Informational Assurance requirements. The candidate will interface directly with customers as needed and must be able to resolve simple to complex problems in a high-pressure real-time mission environment. The candidate must possess knowledge of networking and data link protocols such as IP, Ethernet, Frame-Relay, SONET, and T1. The candidate must be willing to work nonstandard tours of duties, which includes nights, weekends, and overtime. Overtime may be short or no notice. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access. The candidate must possess or obtain a CompTIA Security+ certification within 180 days of hire. The candidate must be able to work independently or as a member of a team and have strong verbal and written communications skills and must be able to qualify and maintain a government flight line privileges.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Having experience in operating and maintaining Marconi, Juniper, and ADC Telecommunications equipment is highly desired. Having experience in operating and maintaining voice communication distribution system equipment, have an active DoD secret security clearance and possess a current CompTIA Security+ certification is desired.

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Associates or higher degree in Computer/Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training. Possess 5 years related experience or combination of experience in computer system basics and/or related areas of expertise. Must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems. Must have specific experience in the use of MS window server environments and various CAD/CAM, database, MS Office and Web enabled applications. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines. Employee is expected to routinely cross-fields in the completion of somewhat difficult and varied assignments. Must be capable of updating or repairing computer systems. The incumbent must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance up to a Top Secret and Special assess. Must be a U.S. citizen.

SALARY

The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,280 annually.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Will be asked to make functional the initiatives established by management and will coordinate with other organizations as affected by upgrades, capabilities, policy and procedures. WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.
