The
Fleet Asset Manager , is responsible for overseeing the company's transportation processes on a Regional Area. Developing policies and procedures meant to ensure that organizational equipment needs are met. Participation in the development and approval of equipment related budgets. Inputing rent vs buy decisions, providing evaluations, and selection of equipment vendors. Managing the movement of equipment to and from active worksites, and tracks equipment. Coordinating periodic inspection of equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations; arranges for preventative maintenance or repairs as needed. Coordinating training sessions for equipment operators. Working with the Directors, Operation Managers, PDC's repairs, Drivers, and cost analysis of Assets within your purview. Managing the WKC Shops and Mechanics within the Region. As Fleet Manager, you would oversee the entire lifecycle of company-owned commercial vehicles, optimize their utilization, and ensure safe and efficient operations within your respective Region.

Responsibilities Maintaining Lease Schedule A's and Asset Budgets Accepting vehicles for deliveries into the Fleet. Conduct Vehicle DVIR Review, Procedures and Safety Inspections Provide Input whether to lease or buy vehicles within the Regional Fleet Coordinate Data with Stakeholders, Director of Fleet, and Procurement for CERs Ensuring efficient asset utilization and route planning. Coordinating vehicle scheduling and dispatch. Monitoring real-time vehicle location and performance. Keeping records and identifying areas for improvement. Ensuring compliance with transport regulations (e.g., Hours of Service) and safety standards Proficient working knowledge of both State and Federal Truck and Transportation Regulations and Laws within your assigned Region Budgeting and Administration Managing the budget for vehicle repairs and replacements. Oversee the Regional Shops and Supervise the Mechanics, I, II, and III Coordinate vehicle licensure, registration, and insurance. Providing reports to upper management on budgeting, maintenance, and fleet progress Collaborate with WKC Director of Fleet, Land, NA to direct the tactical operation of WKC fleet program and optimize costs and performance. Identify repair order trends and perform root cause analysis to proactively manage fleet concerns. Lead and complete quality audits for vendor maintenance services. Control vehicle rental cost and communicate the business case for a new and/or used vehicles if applicable to field personnel. Ensure all vehicles are compliant with emission testing and state required vehicle inspections, if applicable. Working knowledge of an electric vehicle program to include implementation of charging stations at required locations. Have a working knowledge of existing fleet management policies, activities, protocols, and procedures and make enhancement recommendations that address areas of underperformance. Create and actively manage performance metrics and KPIs to proactively measure and report on critical areas including fleet policy compliance, asset utilization and cost, and sustainability. Implement best practices to maintain an inventory of company assets that allows for continual monitoring of asset health, life cycle cost analysis, and replacement planning. Define and apply best-in-class general maintenance and repair practices for company assets and proactively communicate with operators to ensure that fleet needs are consistently being met. Recommend and develop preventative maintenance expectations and procedures. Support DOT regulatory compliance and driver safety efforts requiring familiarity with current and pending government regulations (DOT/FMCSA, OSHA). Establish collaborative relationships with WKC lines of business, suppliers, and various internal stakeholders (i.e. compliance, safety, HR, and legal) to support all fleet initiatives. Populate and maintain All Mobile Assets in PlanetFM, or other Truck Asset Programs Utilize available information to identify and understand issues and opportunities in the company's fleet and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance performance and safety. Within the assigned regional location, occasional trips for support to Shops, and Vendors within their respective Region. Travel Frequency is Moderate, some nights out as and when needed will be required.
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Minimum 10 years of Fleet Management experience preferred. Work Experience
10+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with mechanical and/or Fleet Management support and service.
Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge
Mechanical and Vehicle Maintenance Skills Conduct Vehicle DVIR Review, Procedures and Safety Inspections Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles Transport, Tank Wagon, Vehicle, Technical expertise. Knowledge of purchasing, managing vendor/supplier relationships and strategic sourcing. Regulators such as DVSA, HMRC, Trading Standards Extensive Knowledge of Transport Law and DOT Regulations both State and Federal Fully proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, and Teams; experience with PowerPoint and PlanetFM.
