Key Responsibilities
Analyzes MRP/APS and planning of direct and indirect material planning for new products. Supports more technical, complex, or medium/high spend
commodities.
Responsibilities •May coach/manage less experienced Commodity Planners. Collaborates with the appropriate functions within the areas of responsibility to support manufacturing, Production Sales Inventory (PSI), Supply Chain performance and objectives •Leads and drives special projects •Maintains and trouble shoots Ultriva/Oracle system integration issues. Engages IT systems support as needed •Supports new product introductions by securing material for pilot runs and making necessary system parameter adjustments as needed •Leads and drives variable cost productivity efforts related to assigned commodity/products •Analyzes MRP system and determines orders to be placed according to schedule and ensures material availability to meet production schedule •Manages inventory levels to ensure inventory goals are met •Develops strategies to increase inventory turns and align according to production rate •Identifies, engages, and drives resolution with internal functions as needed to meet customer/supplier expectations with Sourcing and Logistics support •May support Commodity Planner I to effectively handle issues that are elevated and communicates with Materials Manager when needed •Investigates potential for delays and/or quality issues, identifies alternative (approved) plans and elevates when any sourced item will not arrive on time to support the schedule •Develops and maintains strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials. Initiates and lead monthly pulse calls with VMI suppliers to ensure adequate product availability •Owns system set up for responsible parts •Other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements •Bachelor's degree in related field •3 or more years of experience in similar role and in a manufacturing setting •Ability to communicate data analysis trends and findings both verbally and in written format •Project management •Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment •Ability to work independently and on team •Experience in Oracle and or Ultriva a plus •Expert level in MS Excel •Experience with MS PowerPoint •Experience with MS Access helpful •Ability and willingness to obtain Green Belt and APICS (CPIM, CIRM) within 3 years •APICS (CPIM, CIRM) certification preferred
