The TFI Family of Companies is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader for the role of Vice President of Learning and Development (L&D). This executive role is responsible for designing, implementing, and advancing a comprehensive training program to support employee growth, foster a culture of continuous learning, and enhance organizational capability. As a core member of the leadership team, the VP of Learning and Development will collaborate with senior leaders to align training initiatives with TFI's mission, identify skill gaps, and implement cutting-edge learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a forward-thinking L&D strategy that aligns with TFI's business objectives. Partner with senior leadership to assess needs and set strategic direction for employee development programs. Drive leadership development initiatives to build a robust internal talent pipeline.
Program Development and Management:
Lead the creation and delivery of diverse training programs, including onboarding, technical skills, compliance, and professional growth. Oversee curriculum development for in-person, virtual, and e-learning formats. Implement systems to measure the effectiveness of training programs, utilizing data for continuous improvement.
Learning Innovation:
Integrate the latest learning technologies and digital platforms (e.g., LMS, mobile learning) to scale and personalize training. Stay informed on industry trends to drive innovation in learning delivery and content.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the L&D team, including trainers, instructional designers, and program managers. Foster a collaborative, performance-driven team culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with HR, Operations, IT, and other departments to ensure alignment of training programs with operational and strategic goals. Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to develop relevant and impactful training content.
Budget and Resource Management:
Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient use of resources while delivering high-quality training. Oversee negotiations with vendors for external training and technologies.
Qualifications: Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred). 10+ years in L&D, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a multi-location organization. Proven track record of implementing impactful L&D strategies.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training technologies. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with emerging trends in learning tech and data-driven training evaluation.
Working Conditions: This role requires flexibility, including travel for meetings, training, and off-site agency business.
