The TFI Family of Companies is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader for the role of Vice President of Learning and Development (L&D). This executive role is responsible for designing, implementing, and advancing a comprehensive training program to support employee growth, foster a culture of continuous learning, and enhance organizational capability. As a core member of the leadership team, the VP of Learning and Development will collaborate with senior leaders to align training initiatives with TFI's mission, identify skill gaps, and implement cutting-edge learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a forward-thinking L&D strategy that aligns with TFI's business objectives.
- Partner with senior leadership to assess needs and set strategic direction for employee development programs.
- Drive leadership development initiatives to build a robust internal talent pipeline.
- Program Development and Management:
- Lead the creation and delivery of diverse training programs, including onboarding, technical skills, compliance, and professional growth.
- Oversee curriculum development for in-person, virtual, and e-learning formats.
- Implement systems to measure the effectiveness of training programs, utilizing data for continuous improvement.
- Learning Innovation:
- Integrate the latest learning technologies and digital platforms (e.g., LMS, mobile learning) to scale and personalize training.
- Stay informed on industry trends to drive innovation in learning delivery and content.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the L&D team, including trainers, instructional designers, and program managers.
- Foster a collaborative, performance-driven team culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, IT, and other departments to ensure alignment of training programs with operational and strategic goals.
- Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to develop relevant and impactful training content.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient use of resources while delivering high-quality training.
- Oversee negotiations with vendors for external training and technologies.
Qualifications: - Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years in L&D, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within a multi-location organization.
- Proven track record of implementing impactful L&D strategies.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training technologies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in learning tech and data-driven training evaluation.
Working Conditions: - This role requires flexibility, including travel for meetings, training, and off-site agency business.
